Circuit Efficiency Control of Non-p-Mode Magnetrons by Introducing Distortions into an Oscillating System.

A possibility to alter the oscillatory circuit efficiency of the spatial-harmonic magnetrons by introducing small distortions is theoretically investigated. The variations of cold cavity characteristics are calculated by using an equivalent network of the oscillatory circuit. The distortions with the same period as that of the operating mode have been shown to be the most convenient ones. Applying such distortions allows varying the circuit efficiencies of the doublet mode components in a wide range.
